A whimsical short video depicting what happens after a man throws away an ugly Christmas sweater he received as a gift, created by graduate visualization students at Texas A&M, was screened at a juried Houston film festival June 6.

Directed by Rachel Cunningham, the stop-action piece, “ [Knitmare before Christmas] (https://vimeo.com/87815776) ,” was one of 27 films chosen to screen at the [Extremely Shorts Film Festival] (http://aurorapictureshow.org/calendar.asp?pageid=83&calid=897) hosted by the [Aurora Picture Show] (http://aurorapictureshow.org/pages/home.asp) , a nonprofit media arts center that presents artist-made, noncommercial film and video.

The festival included an international selection of short films by established filmmakers and students.

Cunningham’s collaborators included fellow graduate vizzers Trisha Cleveland, Caleb Jackson, Kelly Kin and Christine Li, a junior artist at [Industrial Light & Magic] (http://www.ilm.com/) , who earned a [Master of Fine Arts in Visualization] (http://viz.arch.tamu.edu/graduate/) degree in 2014.
