CoSci students, sponsors raise funds for B/CS habitat chapter

More than $12,000 was raised for Bryan/College Station’s [Habitat for Humanity] (http://www.habitatbcs.org/) by Texas A&M construction science students and industry sponsors during an April 11 golf tournament at Briarcrest Country Club in Bryan.

The annual fundraising tourney is hosted by the Aggie student chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.

Industry partners in their four respective levels of sponsorship were:

  • SpawGlass;
  • Linbeck, Bartlett-Cocke, Brasfield & Gorrie, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc.;
  • Anslow Bryant, McCarthy Building Companies;
  • Turner Construction, Forney Construction, DPR Construction, Britt Rice Electric, Pumpco, Gerdau, Archer Western and Skanska.

The local habitat chapter serves families earning between thirty and sixty percent of the local median income in need of quality affordable housing. Approximately 3,000 families in the area are in the local target population.
