Juan Rodriguez ‘93, a former construction science student at Texas A&M, will develop education, public, interior and special projects as the new vice president of public/private projects at Balfour Beatty Construction ’s Houston office.

“By appointing Juan to this key position, we hope to embed our brand even deeper in the Houston market and greatly increase our operational capabilities in large projects,” said Steve Mechler, Balfour Beatty Construction division president.

Rodriguez, who earned a Bachelor of Building Construction degree at Texas A&M, will also be creating value-based solutions for integrated project delivery, public-private partnerships, design-build and other innovative client applications.

During his 19 years at Balfour Beatty, Rodriguez has led scheduling and quality control of multi-million dollar projects, organized regional safety initiatives, developed sustainability objectives and increased the company’s partnerships with minority and women-owned subcontractors.

Balfour Beatty Construction’s approximately 2,400 professionals provide general contracting, at-risk construction management and design-build services across the U.S.

The company is part of London-based Balfour Beatty plc, a global leader in professional services, construction services, support services, and infrastructure investment, with more than $18 billion in annual revenues.

“Our goal is to position ourselves for growth as we fully embrace our focus on extending our geographic reach, while also leveraging the resources and financial depth of the larger company,” said Doug Jones, Balfour Beatty Construction regional CEO. “But at our core, we remain committed to local relationships that were built upon tackling projects large and small across Texas.”
