The dean and two staff members of Texas A&M’s College of Architecture have been honored as namesakes for this summer’s Fish Camp and T-Camp, two activities where incoming freshmen and transfer students make new friends and learn about Aggie life and traditions.

Fish Camp namesakes Jorge Vanegas, dean of the college, and Amanda Holmes, an academic advisor in the Office of Academic Affairs and T-Camp namesake Trisha Gottschalk, assistant to the department head at the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning, were selected after being nominated for their positive contributions to Texas A&M.

Namesakes have the opportunity to interact with and impact the 24 counselors and approximately 150 freshmen in the camp named after them.

Fish Camp is a four-day orientation program that takes place at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center in Palestine, Texas, and is led by Aggies passionate about making the first year of college a success for freshmen.

T-Camp is a 3-day, 2-night event in Trinity, Texas, that helps incoming transfer students learn about Texas A&M’s tradition, spirit and pride.
