Spring 2011 AiR Program begins with Ron Cheek

Ron Cheek, contemporary realist painter and founder of the Texas Academy of Figurative Art, became the first artist to participate in the Spring 2011 Artist in Residence Program. Ron gave a presentation on his personal journey though the field of realist painting before beginning his week-long workshop with undergraduate and graduate students. Ron is one of three artists who will be visiting campus this semester. The AiR program is made possible by the Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, the College of Architecture, and the Department of Visualization. Workshops are available for course credit and open to all majors.
