A lucky group of students got the opportunity to participate in a weekend illustration workshop conducted by illustrator Anita Kunz. Her work regularly appears in advertisements, books and magazines including Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, GQ and The New York Times. She was one of two artists chosen by Rolling Stone to produce a monthly illustrated History of Rock ‘n Roll. Her work is exhibited in permanent collections in museums around the world and she is an Officer of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor.
At an open forum the day before the workshop, Anita Kunz spoke about the history of her career as an artist. She was selected and invited by students from the department to be a visiting artist.
The Artist in Residence Program is supported by the Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, the College of Architecture, and the Department of Visualization.
